OWNERS NOTES
We had been sailing for many years before “converting” to motor boating in 2012 when we bought our first Seaward – a 29’.
Bruiser is a 35’ and was launched in 2011 (hull number 14) and we bought her in 2015.
Since that time, she has been professionally maintained with an annual engine service. She has also been lifted twice a year for a quick hull wash and bottom gear check – anodes, props, rudders etc.
As part of her “annual care and maintenance programme”, she has also then been lifted and stored undercover for a minimum of a week, to allow her some dry time and to have her bottom professionally antifouled, props and rudders polished and topsides polished.
In addition, in 2021, she had her heat exchangers and coolers removed from the boat and professional cleaned and serviced by our engineers in their workshop in Plymouth.
She is a beautiful looking boat – very much admired wherever she goes and perfectly at home either used singlehandedly (which I enjoy doing) or with crew.
With her very capable Nelson hull, she is equally at home manoeuvring around sometimes restricted marinas using her big props and slow tick over speed or safely and controllably surfing down Atlantic rollers at 21 knots, as we did this year motoring up the Irish sea on route to Scotland.
I have owned several sea boats over nearly 50 years of sailing and of all of them, Bruiser has been the best.
