Built to a very high specification, this Seaward Nelson 27 is available for immediate launch and boasts Vetus PRO proportional bow and stern thrusters, 30 PRO aft, 45 PRO forward, Zipwake interceptors, a bathing platform extension, wheelhouse galley and the full specification of the top of the range Offshore model.  The 27 shares the impeccable sea boat capability and handling of the other models.

Dimensions

Hull

Round bilge semi-displacement type with flared bow, forward sloping transom and built in transom platform. Rubber spray rails and all around 3″ foam elastomer D fendering compliment the purposeful looks of the craft and provide extra protection when going alongside. Standard colour Blue.

Deck and Superstructure

This is a G.R.P. moulding with substantial gunwales and wide non-slip decks incorporating a beveled toe rail. The superstructure has a large vertical flange that overlaps with a similar flange on the hull before being laminated to the hull.

Engines and Sterngear

The craft is supplied with Yanmar common rail engines with full electronic VCS controls and instrumentation driving conventional stern gear and with twin rudders. Twin GRP fuel tanks of approximately 150 litres each, with a long range reserve. provide a separate supply to each engine. An emergency link valve is included to enable all the fuel to be available to one engine in the event the other engine should break down.

Electrical System

Two 90-amp hour batteries with isolating selector switches are fitted as standard. Power circuits are protected by circuit breakers mounted in the instrument console. Standard electrical equipment includes:
• Two 2-speed pantograph wipers
• Horn
• Navigation lights
• Anchor light
• Cockpit light

Forecabin

Access to the forward cabin is through an oak door from the wheelhouse with a sliding hatch overhead that eases the access, headroom and visibility in this area.
The cabin includes two V berths 6′ 2″ in length with a fixed table that is also used as a berth infill that allows conversion to one large double berth. The cockpit also has a folding dining table. A deep shelf surrounds the whole of the forward area giving ample stowage space.
A bulkhead at the forward part forms the chain locker fitted with a watertight access hatch.
The fully moulded heads compartment is to port.
Ventilation is by way of two vents fitted on the coach roof, a deck hatch and six opening port lights.

Wheelhouse

The wheelhouse has ample headroom. It is fully enclosed with two side and two aft slide opening windows and a stable type door giving plenty of fresh air.

The steering, engine controls and main instruments are all mounted in an ergonomic GRP console moulding. A chart table/stowage locker is fitted to starboard with a hanging locker beneath.
Padded seats are fitted each side for the helmsman and navigator. These seats are fitted with adjustable sliders.
The helm position is on the port side and is fitted with the optional innovative and unique sit/stand helm position.
There is a pair of stowage lockers outboard of each of the wheelhouse seats, a desk locker to starboard and a useful oak hanging locker underneath.
Aft of the helm is the galley, with diesel hob, microwave and sink;  Behind and under the navigator seat is a full length berth.

Cockpit

The cockpit is fully self-draining by way of the stern door.  The sole slopes slightly downwards at the aft end to ensure full drainage. There is easy access to the engines through the forward cockpit seats that have hinged tops.
There are lockers fitted port and starboard for general stowage.
The engine covers form seats and a table can be fitted between the forward and aft cockpit seats.
A versatile full canopy with three zipped openings and 6 windows is supplied with this boat.   The canopy is designed to be used in the up position in bad weather to provide a cosy shelter from the elements.  In sunny weather the canopy sides and rear can be removed separately and the canopy turns into a sunshade. An innovative sliding frame allows canopy removal.

Deck Fittings

Standard fittings include:
• Heavy duty bow roller
• Stainless steel pulpit
• Four stainless steel mooring bollards
• Hand rails on wheelhouse and coach roof
• Chain pipe
• Two fairleads forward
• Mast
• Anchor chocks

Grab handles are also fitted on the wheelhouse bulkhead, to assist access from the cockpit to the side decks.

Decor

The craft is finished with oak veneered bulkheads and oak trim. Side and flush fitting overhead linings in the wheelhouse and cabin are of foam-backed vinyl. The shelf in the cabin is carpeted. Foam cushions are provided for the V berths and aft cockpit seat. The cabin and wheelhouse sole is finished in Flexiteek and covers are supplied for the port lights.
