Dateline. 12 October 2016 – Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK
The Boat Development Co Ltd, builders of Seaward boats, has today delivered Nosam IV, a new Seaward 19, to Poole-based Jane and David Mason. Seaward’s Angus Belcher took her from Cowes to Lymington where he was joined by David Mason for the trip across Christchurch Bay to her new home in Poole Harbour.

The Seaward 19 is available either as a semi-displacement boat powered by a single 110hp Yanmar or, as in Nosam IVs case, a displacement boat powered by a single 30hp Yanmar giving a top speed of 8 knots. As with all Seaward boats she is based on the TT Boat Designs Nelson hull form.

The Masons plan to use her to explore Poole Harbour with occasional longer trips out into Studland Bay and along the Jurassic Coast.

Jane says of the new boat, “I am particularly pleased with the extra hand rails and steps fitted to help me continue boating after finding it difficult to manage our sailing sloop because of my MS. Hubby too is not getting any younger!”
