Seaward at SeaWork 2013
Seaward to launch 8-seat Nelson 42 Pilot Boat at the SeaWork 2013 International Exhibition, Southampton – 25th-27th June
Seaward, builders of the famous Nelson all-weather pilot, harbour and work boats will be showing plans for a new 8-seat Nelson 42 Pilot Boat configuration alongside their extensive range at this month’s Sea Work 2013 International show at the ABP Port in Southampton.
Seaward has been building rugged Nelson commercial and leisure motor boats for more than 3 decades, and all 254 of them are still hard at work.
Indeed, the first Seaward built vessel was a 40 footer, which continues to provide sterling service in the Caribbean.
Seaward’s latest Nelson 42 is a highly developed and refined version of earlier TT Designs, but now has an extensively developed hull form and a ‘floating’ wheelhouse, which reduces noise and vibration considerably – very important when pilot crews are out on station for 8 hours or more at a time.
The latest Seaward Nelson pilot boats are operating out of harbours as far afield as Denmark Tenerife and La Reunion. This extended wheelhouse version allows such vessels to serve multiple ships and or provide personnel transfers. Depending on the engines selected, they also have a service speed of 25knots through just about any conditions, and the ability and facilities to stay on station for extended periods if required
