Senior management changes at Seaward Boats
Dateline: Cowes, 17th February 2016: Stephen Thomas, currently Technical Director of The Boat Development Company which builds the Seaward range of motor yachts and Nelson commercial pilot boats, has been promoted to Managing Director, and William Rhys-Jones joins the Board as Sales and Marketing Director.
| Stephen, who joined the Company in 2015, has a wealth of experience designing and building leisure and commercial craft, and now assumes responsibility for leading the Company forward to achieve its vision of becoming the leading builder of ultimate sea-boats for private and professional use.William Rhys-Jones was Regional Sales Manager at Halmatic for nine years, responsible for the sale of commercial boats into Europe and Nelson motor yacht mouldings to fit-out yards in the UK including Seaward. This was followed by eleven years with VT Shipbuilding and Cobham plc. William assumes overall responsibility for all customer-facing activities.
Mike Burnham the retiring Managing Director, remains as adviser to the Board and will be offering his experience to the new team through this transitional period, providing continuity on existing projects and vision going forward. He now hopes to be allowed the occasional Wednesday afternoon off for a round of golf! Chris Clayton, Chairman says “This is a very exciting time for Seaward Boats. Alongside our existing model range we have our first-of-class Seaward 39 currently in build, together a new version of the Nelson 42 motor yacht and two Nelson 40 pilot boats for an Italian port. We plan to capitalise on this momentum and with an eye to the future, have strengthened our management team accordingly, .
